Ohio landowners eager for gas drilling

With the price of natural gas at record highs, officials in Ohio's Cuyahoga County are expecting a "gold rush" of homeowners and municipalities interested in having gas wells drilled on their property. Last year, Ohio property owners reaped about $154 million in fees and royalties, plus free natural gas to use in their homes. Many are wondering whether Gov. Ted Strickland will reverse course to lift the ban on drilling under Lake Erie, where an estimated 1.1 trillion cubic feet of gas lies.
