Darling to urge G-8 to quickly clear up banks' troubled assets:

UK Chancellor Alistair Darling will attend a meeting today of the Group of Eight wealthy nations in Lecce, Italy, where he plans to encourage his colleagues to help rid banks of their troubled assets in a timely fashion. "If you don't fix the banking problem, you'll never fix the wider economy," Darling told Financial Times.
