LEED 3.0 tightens energy standards for buildings

The updated Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design tightens energy reduction standards for buildings. The U.S. Green Building Council will also require buildings to track energy consumption to maintain their LEED ratings. The new version of the standards, called LEED 3.0, takes effect June 27.
