New nonprofit aims to promote RFID in construction industry

Radio frequency identification, or RFID, is already helping the construction industry track materials, explosives and hazardous materials, among other things. Now a new consortium aims to build support for RFID in the industry so it can be used to measure supplier reliability and simplify inspections. RFID in Construction Consortium, a nonprofit group, offers workshops to construction firms and plans to publish an RFID guide by the end of this year.
