Scribd gets major e-book deal with Simon & Schuster

Simon & Schuster, in an agreement set to be unveiled today, will distribute 4,500 books and provide previews of thousands of additional titles on e-book startup Scribd. The deal is the first such pact with a top publishing house for the popular document-sharing site, which has 60 million monthly visitors and gives publishers more control and a bigger piece of sales than Amazon.com, according to this article.
