Analog must-carry requirement will end in December

The Federal Communications Commission is said to have unanimously decided that, as of December, cable providers will no longer have to air must-carry stations in both digital and analog. Broadcasters and some lawmakers had sought a three-year extension of the so-called viewability rule. In other FCC news, the commission extended for three years the HD carriage waiver for small cable systems that was sought by the American Cable Association.
