Starbucks, McDonald's enjoy ads' "amp" effect, Facebook says

A Facebook and comScore report is touting the concept of "brand amplification" via the social network, saying that by buying ads on Facebook, brands increase their "likes" and in turn add to revenue. The report shows how the amplification effect works for McDonald's, Disney and Starbucks, for example, and says "brands are often able to double the reach of their Page Posts through Friends of Fans." It recommends purchasing Sponsored Stories ads to promote posts.
