China's Shanghai Composite posted the biggest loss Wednesday, falling 1.4%, as a global sell-off of equities swept through Asian-Pacific markets. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index lost 1.2%. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 decreased 0.7%. South Korea's Kospi declined 0.6%. Japan's Nikkei 225 closed down 0.2%, after declining as much as 2% earlier in the day. India's Sensex was down 0.5%.
