Company bucks ACA avoidance trend

The Cumberland Gulf Group, which owns Gulf Oil and Cumberland Farms convenience stores, plans to reclassify about 1,500 employees as full-time and eligible for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. The move is contrary to a trend toward more part-time hours in an effort to avoid triggering ACA mandates to provide insurance.
