EEOC targets BMW, Dollar General over employment checks

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Tuesday filed lawsuits against Dollar General and a U.S.-based BMW plant, saying that both employers discriminated against black applicants through criminal background checks. The companies uniformly rejected candidates with recent criminal histories, instead of considering them on a case-by-case basis, the lawsuits say.
