Iowa's governor says he'd swap Internet sales tax for income tax relief

Iowa's Republican Gov. Terry Branstad is urging the state's House members to back the Internet tax-collecting Marketplace Fairness Act. Branstad promises he would use the estimated $18 million a year in revenue to offset income tax reductions. The act still faces strong opposition from those who say the matter was settled in a 1992 Supreme Court decision and that it would place an undue burden on small businesses using the Internet for online sales.
