Marketo prefers partnerships to sector's acquisition trend

Marketo CEO Phil Fernandez says the company plans to remain independent despite the respective sales of Eloqua and ExactTarget to Oracle and Salesforce.com. Marketo hopes to forge strategic partnerships with companies such as HootSuite and Marin Software. “Our mission has been to be the independent innovator," Fernandez says.
