A monetary dove is widely considered the odds-on favorite to succeed Ben Bernanke as head of the U.S. Federal Reserve. Vice Chair Janet Yellen has strongly backed Bernanke's easing policies and is considered by economists surveyed to be the likeliest candidate to be nominated for the job by President Barack Obama.
