NSA phone-records gathering is subject of ACLU lawsuit

The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit against the government over the gathering of phone records under a program run by the National Security Agency. "The practice is akin to snatching every American's address book -- with annotations detailing whom we spoke to, when we talked, for how long, and from where," the ACLU said. The government's actions have overstepped the bounds of the Patriot Act, according to the ACLU.
