Panasonic, Fujifilm come up with an organic image sensor

Panasonic and Fujifilm have created a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor image sensor made with an organic film, which they say is thinner and more sensitive to light than existing CMOS image sensors. The companies have cooperatively developed a manufacturing process for the part but didn't disclose when they would release the technology for commercial use.
