Professor addresses environmental worries over carbon nanotubes

Carbon nanotubes hold immense potential due to their strength, electrical properties and other factors, but manufacturing them poses specific environment hazards, according to some experts. Desiree Plata, a civil and environmental engineering professor at Duke University, is working on ways to reduce worker exposure to the material during the manufacture of products as well as minimize the nanotubes' eventual effect on the environment.
