Sainsbury CEO pushes for UK online sales tax

UK lawmakers should consider introducing a sales tax on online retailers to level the playing field for brick-and-mortar retailers, said Sainsbury CEO Justin King, who pointed to the Marketplace Fairness Act under consideration in the US Congress as an example. "The burden of taxation falls very heavily on bricks-and-mortar retailers. I think we need to rebalance the tax burden."
