Small firms worry about economic effects of low retirement income

Many small-business owners say they can't afford to offer retirement plans to their workers, but they also worry that consumers' lack of retirement readiness will hurt their ability to spend and thus hamper the economy. The findings are from a survey by the Main Street Alliance and the American Sustainable Business Council. In the poll, 70% of owners of small businesses said older Americans spend less because they don't have enough retirement savings.
