Study: Sleep apnea raises sudden cardiac death risk

Sleep apnea was associated with significantly increased risk of sudden cardiac death, according to a study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Data on more than 10,000 sleep apnea patients showed older age, low blood oxygen levels and having 20 episodes of apnea per hour were strong predictors of risk of sudden cardiac death.
