Texas waives class-size limits for some elementary schools

About one-third of elementary schools in Texas were excused this year from limits on class sizes that cap classrooms from kindergarten through fourth grade to 22 students. The majority of schools received waivers by citing "financial hardship" in the wake of the state legislature's funding cuts for schools.
