TSCA stakeholders seek lawmaker to lead on reform legislation

Business and environmental groups are searching for a Democratic senator to take the lead in pursuing reform of the Toxic Substances Control Act after the death of Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J. Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., and Tom Udall, D-N.M., are considered front-runners. "There are numerous [Senate Environment and Public Works Committee] members who are co-sponsoring the legislation, notably Tom Udall and Sen. Gillibrand, and as well as members of the Senate Democratic leadership," said American Chemistry Council President and CEO Cal Dooley.
