Calif. high-speed rail faces funding challenges

California's high-speed rail project could receive up to $250 million starting in the next fiscal year, but that is far less than what is needed. In addition, in a largely symbolic move, the House voted on Tuesday to stop funding the project. More than three dozen firms and 220 workers are already conducting preliminary work on the first 30-mile section of the project.
