Social media, free videos combine for new brand of PD

A new approach being pioneered in Utah is reinventing the professional-development experience for teachers. The approach, called Teaching Channel Teams, blends video and social media, in an innovative online platform that allows educators to access a library of 700 free videos demonstrating top teaching practices while also collaborating, learning and connecting with mentors. While Utah's teachers have access, the program also is being used by others, such as Educate Texas to support its work and connect educators across the state.
