Teacher: Cool activities to wind down the year

Fourth-grade teacher Mary Tarashuk writes in this blog post about her mixed feelings as the end of the school year approaches, especially teaching in a classroom without air conditioning. Even with a new air conditioner in her New Jersey classroom, Tarashuk writes that her end-of-the-year lessons and activities retain a summer-feel, including an interactive CD-ROM set called Science Seekers and the Walking Classroom, which allows students to go outside, be active and learn. "Our sense of summer hasn't left the air; it's just cooler in our classroom," she writes.
