Newspapers follow classifieds' money online

After fighting a losing battle for the past decade with online competitors over classified listings, newspapers are trying to turn the Web to their advantage. Newspaper publishers are buying existing Web sites like Cars.com and expanding their own online initiatives to protect their classified base, which accounts for more than a third of their revenue.
