New data shows reach of widgets

Data from comScore shows that content created with online media tools called widgets is reaching 21% of the global online audience. The metrics, the first to track this type of online media, are expected to make advertisers more comfortable sponsoring such content. However, the social networks in which the bulk of such content appears have been leery about allowing third parties to advertise on their sites.
