Construction price rises are widespread, but not universal

Price increases on construction materials are widespread, said Kenneth Simonson, chief economist of the Associated General Contractors of America. Simonson offers evidence from contractors ranging from Albuquerque to Virginia indicating price increases, but he says there are still a few exceptions, such as lumber and gypsum wallboard, prices for which are not rising.
