Corps begins shutting down traffic on Mississippi River:

Flooding on the Mississippi River forced the Army Corps of Engineers to close two locks on Thursday, and a spokesman says nine locks probably will be closed by the time the river reaches its crest. The closures have left more than 200 miles of river unnavigable to barge traffic, creating logistical nightmares for farmers and manufacturers throughout the Midwest.
