Out Portland mayor on his breakthrough win

Although his sexual orientation reportedly wasn't a factor in his successful campaign, newly elected out Portland, Ore., Mayor Sam Adams believes his becoming the first openly gay leader of a top-30 U.S. city could represent a breakthrough for LGBT elected officials. "We still have other glass ceilings to go, but hopefully people are getting encouragement to pursue their dreams," Adams said.
