EU discusses reforms to tackle issue of debt crises

EU officials are discussing various reforms to prevent debt crises. EU President Herman Van Rompuy is leading a task force that is hammering out details of reforms aimed at preventing a buildup of debt, bolstering macroeconomic cooperation among EU nations and establishing a permanent mechanism for helping countries that get into fiscal trouble. The task force is expected to offer its proposals before an EU summit in October.
