Nashville, Tenn., to open district's first virtual high school

The Nashville, Tenn., school district will introduce its first virtual high school this fall with courses taught online and available to all district students, whether they attend on campus or are home-schooled. The virtual school is part of the district's effort to ensure that students take at least one online course before graduating high school to prepare them for college and the workforce. "When you don't introduce them to their future work environments, you haven't adequately prepared them for life," the district's director of instructional technology said.
