Polymer-based technology could be applied in tissue regeneration

Several Canadian scientists are working on a polymer-based technology for use in the regeneration of spinal cords, heart valves and other tissues affected by disease or injury. They said they hope the technology will be ready in a decade. Their technique involves the placement of fat-derived stem cells on a polymer prosthetic that could stimulate cell growth when implanted into a patient's body.
