Students learn green engineering by building model solar cars

Students from 130 Northeast schools participated in an event that had middle-schoolers using solar panels, soda cans and other materials to build their own model solar-electric cars. One school used federal grant money to purchase materials for students to build the cars. "Not only do I get to learn more about engineering, but especially more about green engineering, which is great," one student participant said.
