Vote on Murkowski effort may indicate future of Senate climate bill

The Senate procedural vote Thursday that rejected a resolution by Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, to block federal regulations on greenhouse-gas emissions may indicate how senators will vote on the climate-and-energy legislation by Sens. John Kerry, D-Mass., and Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., analysts said. However, Dylan Voorhees, an executive of the Natural Resources Council of Maine, believes that it is "overly simplistic" to say the vote foreshadows any action on the comprehensive climate bill.
