April weather caused on-time airline performance to suffer

Severe weather prompted a drop in on-time performance for flights in April. The Transportation Department reported 77.3% of flights were on time during the month, compared with 86.3% in April 2012. Airlines said more than one-third of delayed flights were delayed due to weather during the month.
