Cable Show offers platform for pitching 2 new Latino networks

The Cable Show in Washington, D.C., on June 12 provided the venue for actress-singer Jennifer Lopez and movie producer Robert Rodriguez to tout their separate networks aimed at English-speaking Latino audiences. Lopez, chief creative officer for NuvoTV, wants to appeal to "the modern Latino" with music and eventually original scripted programming. Rodriguez, whose El Rey network has formed an alliance with Univision, is looking to bring "cutting edge innovation" to TV through "sensational scripted dramas, reality series comedies and sports."
