FAA to seek experts outside aviation industry for certification

The Federal Aviation Administration plans to change its process slightly for certifying aircraft. The agency will seek experts from outside the aviation industry, according to Margaret Gilligan, FAA associate administrator. "We need to enhance communication between manufacturers and all the sub-tier providers that they buy parts from," she said.
