Global investment in renewable energy dropped in 2012

Last year saw the first decline since 2009 in renewable-energy investment worldwide, according to the U.N. Environment Program and renewables-policy organization REN21. Investment fell 12%, to $244 billion, partly because of less expensive solar products and investor uncertainty about policy supporting renewable energy, according to the groups.
