House panel OKs DOD spending bill over objections

Despite objections by Democrats, the House Appropriations Committee has approved a Pentagon spending bill that bypasses spending caps put in place by sequestration. The $512.5 billion spending plan, which now heads to the House floor, is $28 billion higher than sequester limits allow.
