Md. airport offers flexible options for learning to fly

The Frederick Flight Center based at Frederick Municipal Airport in Maryland trains about 100 students at a time. The airport is also home to Advanced Helicopter Concepts and hosts traffic from Sky Ventures, another nearby flight school. Most students just want to get their private pilot's license, said Kevin Jackson, the Frederick Flight Center's chief instructor. "Some only fly once a month, some are career-oriented, and some are here to have fun. They'll get their license when they get their license," he said.
