New SPECT/MR holds promise for a variety of clinical uses

SPECT/MR was introduced at an imaging meeting as a flexible preclinical molecular imaging approach that could deliver improved resolution and lower radiation dose. Possible indications include imaging for cardiovascular and neurological disease, cancer, endocrine disorders and much more. Experts including Benjamin Tsui have developed the technology with TriFoil Imaging, and Tsui said human trials are on the horizon in the next couple of years.
