Payment companies try using social media to curb fraud

Credit bureaus and payment companies including PayPal, WePay and Intuit have begun tests to see if they can use publicly available information on social media sites to help combat online payment and identity fraud. U.S. online retailers lost about $3.5 billion to fraud last year, according to CyberSource.
