Pilot hopes to check space flight off bucket list

Wally Funk was among a group of women who matched, and even surpassed, the results of the original group of Mercury astronauts, but she never went into space because she was a woman. Funk, now 75, has always missed that one flight she never took and she's applied to be a passenger aboard Virgin Galactic's first space plane flight. "I'm going; that is my quest," Funk said. "I love flying; that's my -- that's my job, that's what I love, and I'm not a quitter."
