Solar arrays to power Dubai Sustainable City

Dubai Sustainable City, a 114-acre project in the United Arab Emirates that will be built in four phases, will have 600,000 square feet of solar cells that will generate half "of its own energy with solar panels and offset its carbon footprint by introducing alternative modes of transportation." The city will be home to organic farms, 550 residential villas and educational facilities. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2016.
