Study: Cocoa may fight obesity-related diseases

In a study, mice who were fed a high-fat diet and then given the human equivalent of 10 tablespoons of cocoa powder showed fewer markers for obesity-related diseases such as diabetes. "Most obesity researchers tend to steer clear of chocolate because it is high in fat, high in sugar and is usually considered an indulgence," said researcher Joshua Lambert. "However, cocoa powder is low in fat and low in sugar.”
