Survey: Internships important for a career, but not a guarantee

A new poll by Internships.com finds that 57% of college students believe internships are key to starting their careers, while about a quarter feel they are unprepared for the workforce. Even though a 2012 Millennial Branding survey showed companies hire only 30% of their interns, experts say the experience is valuable. "You can't prove yourself by taking a college course. You can prove yourself by getting internships," Millennial Branding's founder, Dan Schawbel, said.
