TSA's effectiveness in question after policy reversal

Now that the Transportation Security Administration has dropped its plans to let some small knives on planes, people are questioning how effective the organization is at thwarting terrorists and at deploying strong leadership. "How is TSA going to be allowed to make risk-based decisions if every time they do, either Congress or special-interest groups build up enough pressure to reverse the decision?” asked Jeffrey Sural, a former TSA assistant administrator who served under President George W. Bush. "That’s a serious concern."
