Connecticut school chief to head up wealthy district

The Greenwich, Conn., school board Tuesday unanimously approved Connecticut Education Commissioner Betty J. Sternberg, who has never been a principal or superintendent, as its new schools chief. Sternberg pledged to help the affluent district's growing numbers of low-income and minority students close an achievement gap.
