Kindergarten educator wins $100,000 teaching prize

Denver kindergarten teacher Linda Alston has received the Knowledge is Power Program's 2006 Kinder Excellence in Teaching Award, along with a $100,000 bonus, believed to be the largest, unrestricted teaching prize in U.S. history. In addition to constantly telling pupils they are "brilliant," Alston teaches her children to read, use adult vocabulary and show respect toward each other.
