PBS names Boland chief content officer

John Boland, 57, is leaving his position as EVP and chief content officer at San Francisco's public radio and television outlet KQED to assume the newly created position of chief content officer of the entire PBS network. Boland, who has extensive experience in digital media, in his new role will oversee TV programming, new media and promotion, among other things.
